Cronus Zen Guide

How to Update Cronus Zen Firmware

Update Cronus Zen firmware with the official web updater, enter bootloader mode, and fix common firmware update problems.

Applies to: Cronus Zen firmware, Bootloader mode, Chrome, Edge

Why firmware matters

Firmware controls how the Cronus Zen communicates with controllers, consoles, and scripts. If firmware is outdated or corrupted, you can see disconnects, blank screens, or scripts that do not behave correctly.

Update with the official web updater

Open the official Cronus firmware updater in Chrome or Edge after placing the Zen in bootloader mode.

  1. Use Chrome or Edge.
  2. Hold the small blue reset button while connecting the rear CONSOLE/PC USB-C port to your computer.
  3. Wait for the OLED screen to show Zen Bootloader.
  4. Open the official firmware updater and click Connect.
  5. Choose Cronus ZEN, select the latest firmware, and wait for the update to finish.

If the updater cannot find your Zen

Change the cable first. A cable can power the Zen while still failing data transfer.

Plug directly into the computer instead of a USB hub. Then re-enter bootloader mode and try again.
