What Cronus Zen does

Cronus Zen is a compact USB device placed between a controller and a console or PC. The gaming system sees a normal controller, while the Zen translates button inputs and runs compatible scripts such as Auto-Green or Anti-Recoil.

Correct port selection matters more than almost anything else during setup. Plugging into the wrong socket is the most common reason a Zen appears powered but does not respond.

The rear CONSOLE/PC socket links to the gaming system, A1 takes the main controller, and PROG is reserved for Zen Studio Live.

Cronus Zen ports explained

PortUse
CONSOLE/PCThe rear USB-C socket connects the Zen to a PlayStation, Xbox, or gaming PC during play.
A1The left-side socket for the primary controller.
A2/A3The two front sockets for a keyboard, mouse, or additional controller.
PROGThe right-side USB-C socket used only for Zen Studio Live and loading scripts. Disconnect it before playing.

How to hard reset Cronus Zen

If the display freezes, turns black, or the unit stops responding, follow this reset. It does not erase the scripts stored on the Zen.

  1. Unplug every cable from the Cronus Zen.
  2. Turn the device over.
  3. Press and hold the small blue button on the bottom for 10 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the Zen; it should start and respond normally again.

Choosing the right USB cable

A USB lead can power a controller without carrying controller data. That is why a lit controller does not always mean the connection is working. Use a short, good-quality data-sync cable and replace the cable first when inputs are missing or the device repeatedly disconnects.

Connect the Zen directly to the console or computer while diagnosing a fault. USB hubs, long extensions, and damaged ports introduce extra failure points and make a basic setup harder to test.

PROG mode and play mode are different

Use the right-side PROG socket while changing settings or loading scripts through Zen Studio Live. For gameplay, remove that connection and use the rear CONSOLE/PC socket instead.

Remember the simple play chain: the controller goes into A1, while the console or gaming computer connects to the rear of the Zen. A2 and A3 are reserved for supported secondary devices such as a mouse, keyboard, or another controller.

FAQ

Does a hard reset delete my scripts?

A basic hard reset should not delete saved scripts. A full factory reset can.

Which port should I use when playing?

Use the rear CONSOLE/PC port to connect the Zen to your console or PC.

Why does my controller light up but not respond?

The cable may be supplying power without data. Test a known-good data-sync cable and confirm the controller is connected to A1.
